Studies and Practices for Assisting the Dead and Dying

A weekend of exploration and practice with Ana Larramendi

Begins Friday at 3pm, ends Sunday at 3pm. Residential and non-residential options.

Prerequisites: Shamanic journeying skills: The ability to communicate with and receive messages from helping spirits is essential for this workshop. Not for beginners.

Psychopomp: psycho=spirit, and pomp=to conduct; A shamanic term meaning, ‘crossing souls over to the light’. This practice has been recognized in many spiritual traditions around the world throughout time. This weekend gathering will focus on learning some of these basic practices of psychopomp in a safe way with a primary focus on helping those who are dying, or assisting souls of the dead who are not attached to people (possession). I will be keeping this group small to ensure a lot of personal interaction and practice time. I am also open to input on covering specific topics of interest.

Our work explores:

• Meeting with protector Spirits of Light to do this work safely
• How to anchor, ward and shield a space before doing a clearing
• Meeting and befriending the deities who watch over the doorway to the Light
• Understanding the map of death and dying: Where does the soul go? What happens at the time of death? What keeps souls from making this transition?
• Helping a dying person peacefully embrace their eminent journey to the Light
• Safe practices of crossing souls to the light both individually and as a group
• Tupay: The practice of conflict resolution in sacred space
• Being a compassionate witness and holding a space of calm serenity
• Specific practices based on student requests

CLASS SIZE LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE.

Class cost includes: 6 meals and 2 nights lodging. (non-residential option also available)
