Anawasi View of House from Back

I spent many years dreaming of moving to the countryside. Being a lover of nature with a profound spiritual connection to the natural world, living in the city has never been the best fit for me. As my Shamanic work grew and deepened, I knew the time was coming where I needed my own space for teaching, healing, and inner peace. My prayers were answered in 2017, when various events came together that enabled me to finally purchase this magical place in nature.

Anawasi is my home and retreat center for healing work and intimate workshops related to Shamanism. Located in rural Green County, Wisconsin, Anawasi is half way between the towns of Blanchardville and New Glarus on a small private drive. Wasi, in Quechan, means “house”, so Anawasi is literally, Ana’s house!

Built as a private residence in 1999, this light-filled Timber Frame house was constructed of ancient old-growth Wisconsin timbers salvaged from a book-bindery in Chicago.

The 8 acre property was part of a large 230 acre farmstead divided into smaller lots in 1997. Vestiges of the original farm exist on the property with a small outbuilding foundation as well as a larger barn foundation which now presides over a spacious ceremonial fire circle.

A vibrant and year-round spring flows in the valley which attracts a wide variety of wildlife. Deer, coyotes, mink, opossum, raccoon and many others call this place home. There is also an abundance of turkeys, raptors, owls, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and many songbirds!

Minimal light pollution allows for spectacular star gazing on clear nights, or viewing meteors during meteor showers. Lighting bugs light up the valley during summer months. Two large decks allow for great views of the sky, fields and forest. Set back from the road, the home and land are deeply calming, peaceful, and quiet.

Healing sessions are hosted in my home, with workshops and other activities located in the main house, separate studio garage, or fire circle.

I look forward to meeting you whether it be for a healing session, workshop, drum circle, or fire ceremony! I am sure you will agree that Anawasi is a heavenly place to visit!
